  • Luca Boldrini is a recognized authority in commercial cannabis cultivation, backed by more than 15 years of hands-on experience across eight states. He began his career in 2008 by self-funding and operating multiple hydroponic grow sites in California, honing his expertise in maximizing yields and plant quality. In 2014, Luca relocated to Colorado to design and manage one of the state’s largest indoor deep-water culture facilities.

    Over the course of his career, he has led teams at various scales, from start-ups to multi-state operators. As Director of Cultivation for Curaleaf Connecticut, Luca successfully transitioned the company from soil to rockwool hydroponics in a new, state-of-the-art facility—reducing production time and increasing consistency. He later joined Standard Wellness as National Director of Cultivation, where his strategic oversight significantly expanded the company’s cultivation capacity.

    Committed to sharing best practices, Luca co-founded CO-LAB Consulting, advising clients on efficient and profitable cultivation methods. He also co-authored the resource ≥100g per sqft, aiming to set new standards for innovative cultivation techniques. Throughout his career, Luca has consistently championed collaboration, continuous learning, and forward-thinking technology, believing these are the keys to shaping a sustainable future for cannabis.

Chris O’Ferrell, Lead Consultant

  • Chris O'Ferrell is a distinguished former Marine Corps infantryman who has successfully transitioned to the cannabis industry, leveraging his extensive background in service and leadership. With over a decade of hands-on experience managing cultivation teams across ten states, Chris has honed his expertise in overseeing groups ranging from 25 to 250 employees in greenhouse, indoor, and outdoor cultivation environments. He has developed a robust network and a proven track record of optimizing cannabis cultivation operations of various sizes. His career is characterized by a steadfast commitment to innovation, growth, and operational excellence.

    Chris's cannabis journey began in Colorado with Native Roots, where he made significant contributions to their 200,000-square-foot flagship facility in Denver, affectionately known as the “mothership.” Driven by a passion for knowledge sharing, he later collaborated with the Cleveland School of Cannabis, playing a pivotal role in both developing commercial cultivation operations and shaping the cannabis cultivation curriculum, thus helping to educate the next generation of industry professionals.

    In 2019, Chris was appointed Director of Cultivation at Curaleaf, where he spearheaded the establishment of a cutting-edge multi-tiered cannabis cultivation operation in Columbus, Ohio. His leadership extended beyond facility management to encompass designing, licensing, staff training, and genetics sourcing. His focus on operational excellence is further enhanced by his Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, which empowers him to reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and streamline processes to cut costs.

    Recognizing Chris's exceptional expertise in growth and innovation, Deep Roots welcomed him as their Senior Director of Cultivation in late 2021. Under his guidance, the company achieved over a 100% increase in grams per square foot average, reflecting his impactful leadership. In addition to his roles, Chris is a sought-after conference speaker on cannabis cultivation facility design, sharing his insights and expertise with industry professionals.

    Chris co-authored the self-published book titled “≥100g per sqft,” which is sold in hydro stores across the country and serves as a primary training resource for cannabis cultivation businesses both in the United States and abroad. His extensive network, combined with his dedication to optimizing cultivation operations, has established him as a prominent figure in the cannabis sector.
